Welcome, Zoe Cooksey.
Sorry it's taken forever to update this.
This summer I went to Boston and went to the wedding of my dear friend Zoe Metzger. I was honored enough to be one of her bridesmaids.
This is us. Zoe (toaster or Zoester) and I met when we were both in primary-ish/young women's together. Our first interaction and bonding experience was when both of our parents forgot about us and left us at the church after our mutual activities....and didn't come get us until about 10 PM. Turns out our parents were both together. I think her dad was helping my mom with an oil change. But they couldn't be bothered to walk the 10 feet into the church building to tell us where they were. So instead Zoe and I wandered around the church....in the dark.....and used the telephone to try and get a hold of parents who had no cellphones. And after that somewhat terrifying experience, we became instant friends. We continued to bond over the fact that our parents left us again in the house by ourselves with an Alfred Hitchcock film "The Birds" as a babysitter. After we watched the movie, we couldn't go the bathroom by ourselves and when we tried to do Mad Libs to help us get over the fact that we could potentially
be pecked to death by birds if we ever left the house, the only noun, adj, verbs, etc. we could come up with had to do with gruesome morbid death. So as you can tell, Zoester and I are buds.
I also got to meet up with another good friend who was also at the wedding as a bridesmaid, Annie (Annar) Johnston. I call her Annar because people in Boston have accents and add 'r's to the end of vowels. I remember in sixth grade all my teachers called me Lener. And I had the hardest time one time trying to figure out that my teacher was saying "Horn Book" and I thought he was saying "Han Book" like the chinese dynasty. Oh dear. But Annar and I had great fun bonding whilst at Zoe's wedding.
flattering no?
After the wedding festivities I headed to a little land called Israel..........

You have me laughing OUT LOUD. (I refuse to type "LOL" because I am 40 and I type my words and use correct spelling.) You are hilarious and I loved the stories about your mom and Zoe's dad. I have many fond memories of all 3 of you -- Lener, Annar, and Zoe. I want to hear about your adventures in the little land of Israel!!!!
